Bitlocker, I didn't set it up on my computer but it's still asking me for a code

I got this computer probably 5 years ago and I never had to make an account with Microsoft until now. My computer has been having some battery/charging issues, and I'm thinking that's why this is happening. Anyways, I just booted it up after a few days away and it's asking for a bitlocker code but I've never set that up and don't really even know what that is. Is there something else I can do besides resetting and losing all of my data? Please please help

    Hello,

    I've seen this issue earlier with Dell machines. So if you're on Dell system, checkout this information and see if it helps you:

    Hi,

    It is actually widely reported on Dell systems, looks like some systems set that up automatically.
    You could check the following link to see if you have the key.
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026181/windows-10-find-my-bitlocker-recovery-key
    If not, I'm afraid you should re-install Windows.

    In addition, here are some posts with the similar issue with yours, just for your reference, you can try the method mentioned in them:
    * Restart the system
    * At the Dell Logo keep tapping F2
    * You will enter the BIOS screen
    * Go to Secure Boot header, expand and select Expert Key Management
    * Click the Restore Settings button
    * Select Factory Settings
    * Press OK
    * Exit the BIOS and restart
