Creating an Azure Migrate project

Hi - I want to convert a vSphere .ova, which contains an application, to a native Azure image. I did some web searching, and think that https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/migrate/tutorial-migrate-vmware best fits my needs. In the 'Prerequisites' section, I click on https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/migrate/create-manage-projects. I noticed that, in both the 'Servers, databases and web apps' and the 'Databases (only)' section, I see the 'Create a project' button. But my application doesn't fit those two buckets. So I went looking in "Explore more scenarios" and found "https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/developer/java/migration/migration-overview#spring-boot--jar-applications", which describes my application. But nowhere in that section of web pages do I see a 'Create a project' button. How should I move forward? Thanks!

    Hi @Lemons, Terry

Welcome to Microsoft Q & A community Forum!

You can use Azure migrate solution to migrate VMware VMs as per the https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/migrate/tutorial-assess-vmware-azure-vmware-solution to either Azure VMs or to Azure VMware solution as per the document

Converting OVA to azure image is not supported by Azure migrate.

You can use Azure migrate if you mount the OVA on premise to be VMware VM and then you can migrate the VM to either Azure VM or Azure VMware solution as per the documents above.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
