Not receiving a code on the Authenticator app

I keep trying to log into my university account on outlook and Microsoft word but it asks for the code displayed on my Authenticator app. However, I’m not receiving any codes on my app!!

I am having the same issue. I got a new phone and my university account is there however when i try to sign into the outlook app on my phone, it says sign in with the authenticator app asking for the code and then I go into the app and it just doesnt give me a code.
No idea how to fix it - I have reinstalled etc, updated and all.

Same here I literally can't log in to my accounts because of this, none of the are working

Having same problem with the MS Authenticator! The whole work profile stopped syncing from July 20th and still disconnected. I have done all tricks. I deleted the whole company portal and connected apps, and reinstalled a few times. The authenticator app shows my work email address, and device appears as registered, but the authenticator does not generate codes, which makes the whole work profile, and 20 other apps, all redundant. Our IT/Telecom do not seem to know what to do neither.

After many fiddling and many searches for solutions on the internet, I was able to resolve it.

I used my work account credentials to log into: https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info

on my laptop. I managed to get a QR image within the security tab. I went ino my 'work authenticator' app on my mobiel, where I scanned the QR code from the screen on my screen on my laptop. I clicked on the 'verified IDs' tab at the right bottom corner in the authenticator app, where I used the scanner to scan the QR code. I don't want to reverse the procedure as I am fearful of getting disconnected and getting stuck again. However, after that process, authenticator became active, where it was 'greyed'/inactive before that. It started to generate codes to generate codes (every 30 sec), which I used to log into my work outlook, and work MS Teams. The only thing that didn't seem to sync was the my work contacts. This did happen a couple of times in the past. The way to get this done, is to go to work outlook app, then settings, then 'email accounts', click on your account and toggle to enable the 'Syc contacts'.

When it comes to the Outlook and Microsoft Word applications asking for the code displayed on your Microsoft Authenticator App, this should be within the App itself. If you still aren't seeing an Outlook or Microsoft Word specific code after logging into the App on your phone, please make sure you added your university account to the to the Microsoft Authenticator app.

Hi

I am hoping you can help me. I have the authenticator app on my mobile phone. I am trying to add my microsoft hotmail email account to it. When I try it always says i need to add a code from the app but it is the app i am trying to link it with so no code appears.

I have even tried installing the app on my daughters phone so i have it twice but still nothing

How am i suppose to be able to link it to the authenticator app if it doesnt allow me to without a code which it does'nt give me. I am so confused and stressed after over an hour of trying to sort it.

you completely missed the question. we have the accounts added but they are not displaying the codes! fix your apps please i am having the same problem

The biggest problem is like many of Microsofts applications over recent years its not very good and buggy..........
