Can I use my computer license, which is a windows 10 pro digital license linked to my Microsoft account, to activate Windows in a virtual machine built under hyper-V in that computer or have-I to buy a new one ?

    Hi dominique

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If that licence is used on the PC you will be running the VM on, then you would need to purchase a separate licence for the VM, the Microsoft Licensing services sees each VM as a separate PC.

If that licence is not use on any PC, then you can use that to activate the VM.
