Event Summary

You’re invited to join us October 19-23, 2009 at the Microsoft Conference Center in Redmond, Washington for the Development Tools Ecosystem Summit focused on Visual Studio extensibility! Whether beginner or expert, you’ll learn tips and tricks, best practices, and meet 1:1 with developers and architects.

Visual Studio is an open, extensible platform that can be customized for everything from individual productivity tools to enterprise-wide development needs. The Visual Studio Shell enables developers to leverage a world class IDE to build specialized tools for any number of vertical industries, and can even be custom-branded with your own splash screen and app icon. The conference is open to all developers on October 19th and 20th to learn how to extend Visual Studio 2010. October 21st through October 23rd is a private event for VSIP program members under NDA to receive exclusive business and technical content. For more information on the VSIP program, click here.

October 19th & 20th - Visual Studio Extensibility Days: All developers are invited to join us for two full days of sessions. Each day will have two session tracks presented by Microsoft product team members and industry influencers. A broad range of Visual Studio extensibility topics will be presented including:

• Visual Studio extensibility overview

• Extending the new Editor in Visual Studio 2010

• Using the Visual Studio SDK

• Building applications based on the free Visual Studio Shell

• Programming language service integration

• Building custom Domain Specific Language (DSL) tools

• Team Foundation Server (TFS) extensibility

• Visual Studio Team System (VSTS) extensibility

• Visual Studio Tools for Applications (VSTA)

And many more Visual Studio extensibility topics!

October 21st - Partner Business and Strategy Day:   Two tracks for VSIP, Inner Circle partners and insiders under NDA only, focusing primarily on the business strategy, marketing discussions, and early information about undisclosed technologies.  This may include unannounced changes to Dev10, Dev11 planning, other platform strategies & initiatives.

October 22nd and 23rd - VSIP Developer Clinic: Developer clinic on Microsoft campus B20 where VSIP program members, under NDA only , meet 1:1 with Microsoft subject matter experts.

Social Events

Monday October 19: 6:00-7:30 PM - Ask the Experts, Partner & Publisher Fair: During this social event, Visual Studio extensibility developers, VSIP and Inner Circle partners can interact with Microsoft experts, other partners and 3rd party publishers.

Tuesday October 20: 6:00-8:00 PM - Partner Networking Reception: After a visit to the company store, VSIP and Inner Circle partners are invited to network at the Microsoft Company Museum. Drinks, desserts, and appetizers will be served.

Wednesday October 21: 6:00-9:00 PM - VSIP Partner Dinner: Dinner at the Januik Winery in Woodinville, WA. Buses will provide transportation from the Conference Center to and from the event. Maps will be provided for those that have their own transportation.
