Automate your Vista Factory Installations

Copy the following text to notepad.

 For the product key, enter the product key that corresponds to the version of Windows Vista you want to install.

Save the file as AutoUnattend.xml to the root of a USB key.

  1. Insert the Windows Vista DVD and the USB key with the Autounattend.xml file into the new PC.
  2. Boot the PC from the Windows Vista DVD.
  3. Setup detects the Autounattend.xml and starts installing Vista with the customizations specified in the answer file.
