In December 2006 Microsoft has released a public CTP of SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 (SP2) , which introduces new or improved features in every area of the product (Analysis Services, Database Engine, Integration Services, Reporting Services, Shared Tools).

Here you can find a detailed list of all the features included.

For the ones which are not familiar with the term, CTP stands for Community Technology Preview program. This is a huge commitment made by Microsoft, which allows customer to download and try out for free the pre-release versions of its products, in order to deliver a higher quality development cycle.
