Samples in or out of the box?

For the next release of SQL Server we're thinking of just shipping sample code on the web, instead of shipping on the web and also in the SQL Server box on a CD as we have done in the past.  Questions:

Have you installed SQL Server Samples?

Where did you install from (off the CD which came in the box, or from the web)?

If you installed from CD, did you know there are updates to the samples on the web?

How would you like this to work in the future?

    Downloaded the updated samples from the web.  I like to have the latest of everything, so I don't spend hours tracking down a known issue.  There are probably advantages to keeping samples on the DVD/CD, though, as you never know when you will find a reference or code example that refers to the sample database and you find yourself facing a deadline and caught without Internet access.

    Yes. I almost always install the samples for non-server installs.Initially I installed from the media and appreciated having them there.Yes. I am aware of the web updates, and thanks to RSS feeds and SQLServerCentral that happens pretty soon after they're released. As with the Books Online updates (love getting them!) I always download and install the latest pretty quickly.For the future (at least for the next release) I would like to see samples retained on the DVD. They're very convenient at the times when there's no Internet access. I'm sure that in 2008 (?) there will still be places on Earth without broadband ;-)  Notably many hotels where "in-room broadband" will still mean a very expensive telphone call with a modem. Ask again in 2010 :-)
