Write Outlook addins with VSTO
If you were watching the TechEd keynote today you'd have seen BJ Holtgrewe and Steve Ballmer announce that Visual Studio Tools for Office 2005 will also add suport for creating Outlook add-ins!
I don't normally like snipping from other folks blogs, but Paul Stubbs has summarised all the info so well that there's no point in doing anything else this time. Paul writes:
Today during Steve Ballmer’s keynote speech he announced VSTO for Outlook. Now in addition to Word and Excel, you can create Outlook add-ins using VSTO 2005 for Office 2003. VSTO will create managed add-ins for Outlook that will appear to Outlook as a COM add-in. VSTO for Outlook also fixes some of the problems associated with managed add-ins for Outlook. You no longer need a COM Shim or worry about the shutdown bug .

The other thing BJ mentioned in his demo was a product codenamed Maestro. This was announced last month and is a BI tool based around SQL Server and Office System. Ian has more information on that product including a Beta nomination form. Ian will also be presenting a session on Maestro later this week @ TechEd.
