Team Meeting this week in SoCal….

Today I have been busy in the San Diego sales office putting the final touches on the content that the west region IT Evangelists will be delivering over the next few months. We are doing a series of Technet Presents events across the west during the month of September. These are essentially the same format as the Technet events that you have grown familiar with over the past few years. We will be cover 2-3 topics in depth with the current focus being on Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2.

I will be in the following locations during September --

Sept 2nd – Portland, OR

Sept 10th - Albuquerque, NM (covering for Harold Wong due to back-to-back events)

Sept 18th – Redmond, WA (this is actually a Windows Firestarter event)

My west coast peers, Chris Henley and Harold Wong will be covering additional cities across the west as well. You can see all the event at the Technet Presents registration site.

As I have been wrapping up the content, I have been realizing just how cool some of it really is. We are finally at a point where we don’t have to compromise security for user experience or vice versa. Network Access Protection (NAP) integration with DirectAccess give a huge amount of control over the security of your network while still granting people seamless access. Being able to reach out to machine via DirectAccess to apply Group Policy – regardless of where the client is on the Internet – is a huge win for network administrators. No more struggling to keep machines updated, patched and inventoried.

We will be demoing some of those features and many more at the events so check out what cities we are coming to and get yourself registered while there are still seats available!

Cheers!
