I Dream of Whidbey a.k.a. Adventures in .Net 2.0
The team here at iP3 have been using the Whidbey Alpha PDC bits on a new project. Yes, we know it isn’t due for a while but we enjoy blazing new territory, and we are sure our customers will appreciate all the new features we’ll be shipping with the help of the productivity improvements.
We are building a web-based commerce application, so the main parts of the Whidbey release that we'll be using include ASP.Net 2.0, C# 2.0, and ObjectSpaces.
Over the next couple of weeks I’m going to post about some of the things that we are learning during our work with the new version of .Net. I don't pretend to be the best writer of tutorials or articles, so I’ll probably be pointing you the tutorials or articles we used and commenting on these. I'll primarily be providing code examples that were hard to find or non-existent and information about the bugs that we encounter along the way.
Here are some references that we found useful when we were starting out:
- The MSDN Visual Studio Whidbey page
- The full PDC conference materials online
- The Whidbey Alpha readme
- The Whidbey pages on www.ASP.net
- The www.ASP.Net Whidbey PDC hands-on-labs (HOLs)
- More people experimenting with Whidbey
More soon...

Don't forget the (irritatingly) hidden ASP.NET Whidbey page: http://msdn.microsoft.com/asp.net/whidbey. A lot of the content also available at www.asp.net, but some stuff they don't have.
