8 And Counting

8 years ago today was my first day at Microsoft. That was a busy week, which included graduation from college (Penn State), my birthday, flying to Seattle, trying to find an apartment and car, etc. Much has changed since then. Microsoft has grown considerably, traffic is much, much worse, and I have realized that, even though I thought I knew everything about computers that day I started, I knew (and still know) relatively little.

 

At Microsoft we have a bit of tradition where, on an anniversary, you put out one pound of M & Ms for every year for your coworkers to nibble on. Mine went out this morning. Because not everyone here in the blog world can stop by and share, I would like to send you all some virtual e-M & Ms, which is more or less giving a link to their site.

    What do you know? I'm not the only one hired on my BDay. 12lbs of M&M's last August, and I'm not really sure I'm going to bring in 13 this year.

    Me and a couple other "old-timers" flooded PSS with M&Ms last August, and I was eating those things for weeks. Maybe I should move over to Redmond, and let the VSIP team have a go at them. May have to pack em in with a wheelbarrow :-)
