How Adobe Products (Not) Support Windows Vista

Cara Cassidy on the Adobe Creative Solutions PR blog points to a newly released FAQ - posted by Adobe - highlighting Adobe product support for Windows Vista. Have a look at the .pdf file to check if the Adobe product you're using has support for Windows Vista and how it runs on Windows Vista.

After having a closer look at the document it turns out that only 3 products do support Windows Vista:

  • Flash Player 9
  • Photoshop Elements 5.0.2
  • Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0.2

But that most other Adobe products Install and run with minimal known issues on Windows Vista.

I only have two Adobe products installed. So far I haven't encountered any problems with Flash Player 9, which is fully supported. After a couple of retries Adobe Acrobat 8 installed and runs. That said: Adobe expects to release an update to the free Adobe Reader in the first half of 2007 to support Windows Vista.
