i vs. I

i just started this blog and my wife replies to me:

you are always so gramatically correct and you write your "i" that way? I was surprised... I know you do a lower case d but I havn't seen you do your i that way.

i dissagree with the orthographical rule of capitalization of my own name.
it's mostly a nod to ee cummings:

One Cummings scholar believes that on the occasions Cummings signed his name in all-lowercase, the poet may have intended it as a gesture of humility, and not as an indication that it was the preferred orthography for others to use for his name.
