Surface Pro 3 Announced
Yesterday, the latest member of the Surface family was announced. Say "Hello" to the
Surface Pro 3
The following information is from Panos Panay:
From the beginning, we've had an ambitious vision to build Surface to enable people to do more. Today, 96% of people in the US who have an iPad also have a laptop. They want a lighter device to watch videos and read books, but need a laptop with an Intel core processor to do real work.
Surface Pro 3 is the tablet that can replace your laptop. It is only 9.1mm thin, weighs only 800 grams, AND has a bigger, 12" screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio that is great in portrait orientation. It is also a powerful laptop available with core i3, i5 or i7 processors, up to 9 hours of battery life (10% more than the Surface Pro 2), and a reinvented Surface Pen that delivers the best writing and drawing experience.
The kickstand is now a multi-position kickstand so that you can set it to exactly the right angle for desktop, countertop, laptop or any angle you prefer – all the way to 150 degrees, which is perfect for writing and drawing. To complement the kickstand, we invented the next generation of Type Cover. It is even better with a 63% larger trackpad, and a double-fold hinge that enables you to get more stability when you are using it on your lap.
Of course, Surface Pro 3 will also ship with Windows 8.1 Pro, bringing great experiences in key areas like personalization, search, multi-tasking, ability to run desktop applications, built-in apps, the Windows Store experience, Skype and OneDrive cloud connectivity.
