The configuration for an element within the object is invalid in the boot configuration data store.

I recently received this error when trying to use the Native VHD boot feature of Windows 7:

The configuration for an element within the object is invalid in the boot configuration data store.

There are a few things that could cause this but I suspect a number of people will run into a similar situation as me. I created my VHD file on a drive encrypted with BitLocker. Therefore, the file is inaccessible during boot and you get this error. The only way to fix it is to move the file to a drive that does not have BitLocker encryption. You can either use another physical drive or partition your existing drive so that the main partition has BitLocker and the secondary partition does not.
