windows 7 wednesday tip–problem steps recorder

today i was installing office 2010 using the click-to-run/application virtualization technology microsoft has and decided to use problem steps recorder to “document” the process.  to my surprise on a multi monitor system, problem steps recorder captured both screens in case something on the second screen was needed in troubleshooting the issue – pretty cool!

incidentally, i noticed this same behavior with mspaint and the print screen button!

figure 2: how cool is it to be able to see both of my screens for documentation, troubleshooting, etc.?

  Problem steps recorder wishlist I wish that I could edit the image to reduce or remove one of the screens..perhaps it should ask me before I record to chose both or a particular screen, perhaps zoom in on a window. I thought that this feature would also run perhaps a movie. I realize Camtasia could do all of that, though. The pointer should also be highlighted or larger.
