2011 Year-End What and When is Microsoft Dynamics GP Releasing?
It is getting close to that time of year where we have to start thinking about Year-end processing, specifically around Payroll.
There will be a guaranteed year end update this year, below are the tentative timeline, very similar to prior years:
Microsoft is anxiously watching to see what may be approved with the recent changes the President announced, if passed we will have more change yet for the 2011 year.
Please, no repeat of last year. :-)

The US Payroll Year End Update is scheduled to release 11/17/2011. This is an update that will be required for U.S. customers to install due to the below list of changes.
Please prepare for the update, and see below for details.
Detail of the changes
• W2 and W3 changes, EFW2 changes (magnetic media)
• 1099 R changes for Pension Payroll
• 1099 Payables Dividend changes
• Fixed Assets Luxury Depreciation changes
Table changes to hold the new Employer Kind data: company and dynamics databases: (these are required on W3 and MM)
Dynamics (it is a magnetic media table) W200006 added column employerkind, will default in a 1
Company (Setup and year end table)
UPR40100 added column employerkind, will default in a 1
Year End wage table
UPR10100 added column employerkind, will default in a 1
*This update will be all inclusive of prior updates for Microsoft Dynamics 10 and GP 2010.
It is very important to upgrade Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 customers to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 as soon as we can. We know there are changes, and Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 customers will not get an update.
Other modules that will have fixes: Project Accounting, Manufacturing, Inventory, Field Service, Extender, eConnect, Receivables Management

US Payroll 2011 Year End update will release mid-November 2011.
Canadian Payroll Year End Update will release mid-December 2011.
US Payroll 2012 Tax Round 1 will release mid-December 2011.
US Payroll 2012 Tax Round 2 will release in January 2012.
