Somasegar on Expression Products & MSDN

As of early this morning, the Expression team has announced that Microsoft Expression Web and Blend will be included as part of the MSDN Premium subscription. This decision reflects the large amount of feedback that we have heard from you following last December's ship of Expression Web and through the beta cycle of Expression Blend.  For more details, follow this link.

  I really wonder why Expression Design is excluded. Some tutorials design custom buttons e.g. and it would be excellent  to have Design available as well in order to show folks how easy it is to build custom controls.

  Hi, fine to include blend, but what a strange desicion, to NOT include the Designer and all the rest into MSDN Premium. I think you wanna force the Silverlight 2 development - that's surely NOT the right way to push it ... Why do you think, that Design - at least partly - is NOT part of the development process ? Most companies are not big enough to have seperate design + development teams mfg Klaus Oberdalhoff Germany

  Hey Klaus! The way I see it, MSDN Premium is geared more for developers. Expression Blend is a better fit in that category than Expression Design. To complement the developer side of the equation, we do have a designer subscription program via the Expression Professional Subscription: http://expression.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/default.aspx With that said, you make a fair point, and I'll be sure to post about any updates we may decide to make in the future on which products are available in which type of a subscription.
