Hotfix rollup 3 for Forefront Security for Exchange Server SP2 and hotfix rollup 3 for Forefront Security for SharePoint SP3 are now available
On behalf of the Forefront Server Protection team at Microsoft, I am pleased to announce the release of Forefront Security for Exchange Server (FSE) SP2 Rollup 3 and Forefront Security for SharePoint (FSSP) SP3 Rollup 3.
On October 8th, 2010 Microsoft shipped both builds to address a performance issue with version 8 of the Kaspersky antivirus engine.
For a detailed description of the updates please see the following Knowledge Base articles:
Forefront Security for Exchange Server SP2 RU3: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2420644
Forefront Security for SharePoint SP3 RU3: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2422053
As the installer runs, server service restarts may be necessary, so please plan accordingly when applying this hotfix rollup.

Hi Pete, Incremental updates for the Kasperksy 8 engine are not working correctly. This is a known issue and will be remediated automatically through the engine update process within the next week. Thankk You, Rob M. Microsoft Forefront TeamAnonymous

This was installed by MS Update on the 1/26/2011 on our Exchange server. Since that time, the Kapersky update downloads the entire engine anytime the signature files are updated and this file appears to be a huge file. I thought one of the reasons for going to Kapersky 8 was the reduction in signature file size. We have seen a significant increase in our Internet bandwidth usage since our Forefront for Exchange 10.0 was upgraded/updated.
