PolicyMaker Preferences Migration tool

To keep you in the loop, many of you have asked whether we intend to provide support for PolicyMaker Preferences and migrate to Windows Server 2008's Group Policy Preferences.

I can confirm we are currently testing a tool that will be able to perform this migration. We are pleased with the quality of the tool and are currently completing testing passes before release. At this time we can provide an indicative release date of a mid to late Q4 CY08 release though this depends on feedback from the testing group. We will be providing more information nearer to the release on this blog in the coming weeks to keep you updated as to the progress.

Mail profiles are less important for my company with the launch of Outlook2007 and it's auto configuration. It would be nice for older clients although not a deal breaker. More interested in an update to rollout of the tool as it has been two months since the original post and no more information has been posted.

When are they adding the mail profile back?  My clients will not migrate to GPP unless they get their mail profiles back.

When will this tool be made available? Our company will stay on Windows 2000/XP/2003 with no attempts to move forward to Vista/2008/7 until this tool is out allowing us to migrate settings that we have in place.

"we can provide an indicative release date of a mid to late Q4 CY08 release though this depends on feedback from the testing group." Okaaayyyyy... It's now Q1 2009...and not much left before Q2.  For such a trivial utility (search-and-replace GUIDs, from what I read), how much "feedback" could there possibly be?  A typo on the OK button? This is ridiculous.  GET THIS THING POSTED ON THE DOWNLOAD SITE!!

Any update on a time frame to release the tool? We will be waiting to upgrade until the tool is available.

If the release delay involves mail client profiles, many of your customers do not need that function.  Please release the PMSE migration tool soon.  A large percentage of the installed base will not be moving to GPP without it.
