FISMA Certification and Accreditation for BPOS-Federal
Good news last week from the Online Services team at Microsoft with the announcement that the Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite-Federal (BPOS-F) offering has received FISMA certification and accreditation, a process by which federal agencies validate the security of information management systems.
The BPOS-Federal offering includes Microsoft Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Office Communications Online. For more details check out the announcement.
The announcement last week follows the news from December last year that the Microsoft Global Foundation Services cloud infrastructure also received their FISMA certification.
Cloud computing services security is certainly a top of mind item for customers and you can find information on the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA) at the attached link. Congratulations to the Microsoft Online Services team and achieving the milestone of receiving this certification and accreditation as it relates to the USDA.
