Introducing.... our first preview release of the Orcas SDK!
Right on the heels of last week's VS 2005 SDK 4.0 RTM release, our team is bringing you the first preview release of the Orcas SDK! It is available for immediate download here (login required).
A few important notes about this release of the SDK:
- This version of the SDK must be used with the Orcas March CTP. You can get the Orcas March CTP here.
- This version of the SDK is not side-by-side with VS 2005 SDK. We have not tested the side-by-side scenarios, so you should avoid installing it on a machine where the VS 2005 SDK is already installed.
- Only reference samples and the package creation wizards have been tested and are known to work in this release. Our primary goal is to enable you to port your packages onto Orcas early with this release, and you should be able to do that. Expect the quality of the SDK to improve as we march toward RTM.
If you are ready to start extending the next version of Visual Studio, I would encourage you to go get download this now! You can register at the VSIP Members site and get the download for free!
