My road trips are over - for now!
My last planned time away from the office has finally passed, and I've been spending time getting caught up on all that stuff that never seems to slow down while you're away from your team. One of those things is blogging!
We're heads down working hard on future releases and testing our clients on Windows Vista. You won't be able to run the server on Windows Vista clients, just like you can't run it on Windows XP clients today. If you'll recall, I'm managing testing for TFS Source Control, Team Build, the administrative & operations "guts" of TFS (e.g. TfsAdminUtil.exe, TfsSecurity.exe, the permissions subsystem, backup/restore, deployment configurations, etc.), Visual Source Safe (yep), and most recently, the setup and upgrade process for TFS. These are busy days to say the least!
We have some upcoming web chats too - I'll post dates/times for them soon.
On a personal note, I've really been enjoying the podcasts from Manager Tools lately. If you manage a team or are considering a jump to management, this is a great place to look for fresh perspective on your technique.
