Announcing the JDBC 6.2 RTW!
We are pleased to announce the full release of the Microsoft JDBC Driver 6.2 for SQL Server. The RTW release rolls up all new functionality and bug fixes released in preview releases 6.1.1 to 6.1.7.
The 6.2 RTW introduces support for:
- Azure Active Directory (AAD) on Linux
- Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) enabled Java virtual machines
- Kerberos Authentication improvements - Principal/Password method, Cross-real authentication, Kerberos constrained delegation
- New timeouts - Query Timeout, Socket Timeout

Getting the latest release
The latest bits are available on the Microsoft Download Center, GitHub repository, and Maven Central.
Add the JDBC 6.2 RTW driver to your Maven project by adding the following code to your POM file to include it as a dependency in your project.

<groupId>com.microsoft.sqlserver</groupId>
<artifactId>mssql-jdbc</artifactId>
<version>6.2.1.jre8</version>
</dependency>
Note: An issue with the metadata caching improvement was found in the JDBC 6.2 RTW released on June 29, 2017. The improvement was rolled back and new jars (version 6.2.1) were released on July 17, 2017 on the Microsoft Download Center, GitHub, and Maven Central. Please update your projects to use the 6.2.1 release jars. Please view release notes for more details.
