When Menno talks...

I thought this was a rather interesting post from our friend Menno te Koppele called Pay Attention to Your Customers, Especially Now. When times get tough, there are sometimes some not too obvious opportunities for the savvy business people.

Everybody talks about the economy, no matter where you are – the local coffee shop owner or CEO’s at big corporations. According to Barack Obama we are in the biggest recession since the Great Depression, a world wide economic downturn around 1929.

A lesson that I learned early on from my Dad is that it’s easier to make money from your existing customers, when you know everything about them, than that it is to find new ones - especially in rough and challenging economic times.

I guess it sounds a bit trite but are you the half-full or half-empty kind of entrepreneur? What investments made now will pay the biggest in returns? How can you help your customers survive this economic downturn. Those who research, plan and execute plans for growth are the ones who will prosper.
