OneNote Tip: getting ToDo checkboxes to work a little better with tables

Reader Heather C. contacted me recently with a question about how to get table rows to show with ToDo tags. Here's what she had on her page:

But when she looked at the tag summary, neither the capybara nor chihuahua was shown.

The reason this happens is that the tag is associated with the text - not the table row. Since the first cell in each row is blank, the tag summary does not bother to show the tag (since we don't know what text to show by it and if you have several of these it gets really hard to tell them apart).

The solution here is pretty simple - just apply the tag to the cell with the text you want.

I followed up with Heather and she verified this worked for her. I hope it is useful for you as well!
