AnandTech's move to .NET

Hardware mega site Anandtech documented the history of their web site including the move to .NET. Cool stuff.

    My favorite quote:

"Visual Studio .NET is, bar none, the best IDE that we've seen. It offers a robust development environment with extensive function insight features, which really speed up the development process."

I'd tend to agree, but then I'd probably be accused of bias, given my employer. Nice to hear it from a neutral source. :-)

Jason Clark has done a cool article on Anandtech web site's move from ColdFusion to .NET. You can read the article (including some nice performance graphs) here.

Andrew: Yeah it's a very strong argument. He does feature/function and ROI:

"Our server platform is standardized on Microsoft Windows, so .NET is free for us, while ColdFusion costs us $1299 USD per server."
