PDC2005 Impressions

Wow - what a week at PDC! Lots to summarize from the week.

The keynotes were all great! I was especially proud of the Windows Vista demo on day 1. The demo opened with three of my features - thumbnail-previews in the taskbar, filp, and flip3d! Scoble posted another video of me on Channel9 where I demo these, if you missed the keynote.

I noticed in the comments that some folks expressed surprise at a comment I made in the video about the number of windows people have open. I should clarify that the number I mentioned came in a study we did of consumers using their PC's at home. The numbers are likely to vary pretty wildly from that when you look at how people use their PC at work, or in developer scenarios.

My favorite talk was Robert Ingebretsen's. He did an awesome talk about how we're working to improve the developer / designer workflow experience, with Avalon. Should make life easier for developers and designers alike moving forward.

Favorite new technology: LINQ

Favorite third party product: "phidgets"

During the week, I ran across a couple interesting posts out in the wild, speculating about the Sparkle interactive design tool we announced last week. Interesting perspectives. love the comments/feedback!
