Team Oracle does an America’s Cup Endo

When did America’s Cup change to catamarans? Obviously I haven’t been paying attention but when twitter lit up on this video, I had to check this out.  Reminds me of some motocross endos I’ve done.

For the uninitiated, endo is short for end-over-end.

It's called pitchpulling and is very common on catamarans. The jib has be released immediately once you sense it happening to prevent the downward hull from diving. The skipper should also release the main sheet at the same time to cut down on forward momentum.

Thanks Sean.  I wondered what they might call it. I also wondered how they get a big cat like that back up. It appears you get some idea from the tail end of the video.  Fascinating stuff for sure.
