Curious story

A couple of days back we had a town hall meeting where Steve Ballmer presented Qi Lu as president of Microsoft's Online Services Group. While I didn't attend the town hall in person, one of our CRM managers pointed out to us in an email that the "backdrop" image used during the presentation was that of the CRM team (it was taken when CRM 3.0 shipped).

Interestingly enough seems that that image has been used several times before. Apparently the diverse background as well as the cheerfulness of the people there has made it an ideal resource to depict Microsoft's culture at several events. The challenge of the CRM team now is that once we ship CRM5 we have to take an even better picture…by the way things are looking for CRM5 we will have plenty of things to be cheerful for J

BTW, I’m personally very encouraged about a fellow Tartan (Yes, I’m also a proud Carnegie Mellon’s graduate J ) leading Microsft's search efforts…. Who knows one day I may end up working in that area too; I’ve always been passionate about the “consumer” side of Web.
