MEDC 2005: Vegas 2 Times

After a gruelling 25 hour trip from Heathrow through LA I finally arrived in Vegas on Monday at 10pm for my 2nd ever visit. With so many Microsoft people here I was able to call ahead and have a cold beer waiting for me - nice way to round the day off.

There are about 2000 people here at the event with many of the mobile, CF and embedded team on site as well as lots of field staff. It’s been great to catch up with old friend and make some new ones.

The keynote Tuesday was awesome! Bill announced Windows Mobile 5.0 (codenamed Magneto) ... ahhh it feels so good to finally be able to talk about this stuff! It’s been so painful having to keep silent about this for so long! Highlights: Mike Hall pulling the plug on stage; Neil was building a camera, phone and SQL Mobile app all in managed code on stage.

Monday was a pretty packed day with lots of sessions. I have broken the session review into one post per session as it’s just too much if I put everything together, plus you get to pick and choose the ones that interest you.
