MCP Rewards
We're looking to provide a reward system to those who keep their certifications upto date. How do you want to be rewarded for keeping your certifications up to date? If you are an MCP, I'd love your input on this.
Regards,
George, MCSE

okay. so toys, discounted software, free exam passes, t-shirts. What about hard to get items that only come from Microsoft? will the company store work for that purpose? I'd like also provide something that says that they are an MCP, something similar to the new crystal statues we get at Microsoft for our 1, 5 and 10 year achievements. Something better than the tie/lapel pin we provide in the welcome kits. You know what I'm saying? Give our customers something cool that they can keep in their home or office. GeorgeAnonymous

I promise I was being somewhat kidding with my previous comment. :) I think something like those crystal statues would be rather unique and appreciated. It would be something you could display showing "look, I'm an MCP, and I've been one for several years". That said, I don't think the company store provides that. I think you could give people some credit at the company store, sort of like MVPs get, but I'd still like my "you are special for being an MCP, and here is what you get" kind of thing. Please note, I'm not saying you have to give us anything. :) But you did bring it up. at this point I'm passed (most time) wanting to get the latest tchotke, as are a lot of people my age (mid-30s). So I would appreciate something a little more unique, maybe even something that stands out a little, to make people go "ooh, what is that?". For some people, it might be a nice glass plaque. For others, a nice writing pen. Whatever you do, I would suggest you give people at least a choice of a couple of things. That way, they feel a little more in control, and if they have had to pick something, even if they only had a choice of two items, they can't complain as much if for some reason they don't like it. :)Anonymous

Hey George, I would love to be able to simply get a welcome kit for each MCTS and MCITP I pass. I have a binder that I keep all these certs in and while I know that the idea was to simplify things for the MCTS in particular, there is a definite professional value in being able to provide the paper on demand. It is an impressive thing during an interview to hand over a binder with 10 MCTS certificates in it or whatever. I would also very much like to see Microsoft come forward with an MVP category for Learning Professionals or something. You have 2 or 3 consistent contributors accross the community who have excellent and positive feedback. Reward them. People like Micheal Allgood and the guys at cert guard.Anonymous

How about credit to the Microsoft E-Learning site? For instance, you could receive a voucher for your choice of any Microsoft E-Learning course that's available. This would be a low cost to Microsoft but a $100 award to the MCP. Also this would help the individual train and possibly get certified on another Microsoft Product.
