Guest Blog: The Future of IT for SMBs

[View:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7kRL3JCsIk&feature=youtu.be]

SMBs need to look beyond the classic deliverables of Cloud Computing: they need to see that it also gives them a golden opportunity to explore new ways of working, embracing collaborative applications such as IP telephony, video conferencing and presence-based Unified Communications as well as enabling greater mobility and flexibility.

These are transformational technologies that in the traditional IT model would be the preserve of enterprise; with the Cloud they are accessible to all and can deliver significant competitive advantage.

Some 71% of SMBs in the UK require technology that enables their staff to work anywhere, at any time: location should not define productivity and the Cloud can really help enable the modern office, and maximise output through support for flexible working.

We have just created a new educational video in conjunction with Microsoft SMB Small and Midmarket Solutions, focusing on the future of IT for small-to-medium sized businesses (SMBs). It highlights how the early adopters of Cloud-based managed services such as Pertemps , the recruitment firm, are already reaping substantial gains in terms of reduced IT costs, improved performance, greater resilience and new found agility and responsiveness.

The video is a good introduction to both the proven abilities of the Cloud and its future potential for delivering even greater business value.
