2014 World Finals: Live Presentations

Well that happened!

Today was an amazing day. Across the University of Washington, teams of students got up and presented their Imagine Cup projects to our judges in the Games, Innovation, and World Citizenship categories. We saw so much great work today that I don't even know where to begin. Watching these brilliant, talented students sharing their passion, their vision, and their joy was an intense and moving experience.

And even when I couldn't attend some of the presentations in person, I could still follow along on Twitter thanks to the YouthSpark Reporters. This group of high-school students spent the day watching all the presentations and posting Tweets, photos, and videos from their own perspective as young people looking at the future unfold before their eyes. I loved following the competition through them, seeing what moved them and thrilled them. They're a great bunch, very talented and very passionate, and they did terrific work today.

Our students have left UW for the afternoon for Microsoft global headquarters, where they will set up their showcase booths and demo their projects for Microsoft staff. Then first thing tomorrow morning, our hands-on judging will begin there in the showcase and our second day of competition will get underway.
