Introducing the 2014 AppCampus Award

Mobile app development has changed the world of technology and the lives of people around the world. But with new platforms come new challenges, and there's a big gap separating the great apps from the rest. Even experienced developers have had to start from scratch to learn how best to develop for this new mobile and touch-centric world.

AppCampus is a global mobile application development program led by Aalto University, Finland. Funded by Microsoft and Aalto University, the AppCampus program has been set up to foster the creation of innovative mobile applications for the Windows and Windows Phone ecosystem. Within AppCampus, mobile entrepreneurs can benefit not just from award funding, but also comprehensive coaching, go-to-market support, training in mobile technology, design and usability to create innovative new mobile apps and services.

For the second year, AppCampus has partnered with Microsoft Imagine Cup to honor the best in mobile app development by students. All Imagine Cup worldwide finalist teams with a Windows Phone app are eligible to apply for these awards -- and two teams will be awarded with €20,000 AppCampus award to help them make their apps even better.

There are a lot of great Windows Phone apps among our World Finals teams. Now two of the best will get the funding they need to really shine and show the rest of us how great life in a world of apps can be!
