If you attended the "Virtual Launch" event I'd be interested in your feedback on whether this works well, whether the sessions and virtual labs are useful and any other feedback about this mechanism for getting content, launches and announcements out to you.

Hi Mike .. The sessions where awesome ... and I truly appreciate the toil of the speakers .... but I felt the 'ebcasts were a little[ well what the little here means :P] partial towards those who have hands on experience with windows CE 5.0 and/or previous versions. Well actually I wander around "so many places" on the internet but rarely find an article which reads -- " you only need to know what an OS is and have experience and sense of native and managed code programming experience .. and rest on i will let u know whats inside ce 6.0 " as a prerequisite .... Hmm .. I truly believe there should be a book with title .. "CE 6.0 from ground-up " ... "CE 6.0 for the first time " ... well .. the virtual launch was truly superb ... .. CE 6.0 is truly awesome... -Dhawal P.S: In your previous posts you have had similar opine that there must a good book now ... DO u have any in site right now ???Anonymous

I like that you mentioned Gumstix. Is there a BSP for CE 6.0?Anonymous

Some of the folks over at WE-DIG have been working on the CE 6.0 BSP for Gumstix - More information should be available on the WE-DIG site http://www.we-dig.org

I had trouble getting the webcast to start. When I clicked on the link to choose a stream rate, I got a blank white page that said nothing and did not seem to be downloading. I don't know if it's because I was signing in too early (~15 min before, and I finally got on a few min before the declared start time). Or maybe I was too impatient -- all of a sudden after a while of trying, something popped up inside WMP. Maybe I had been closing the blank white page too quickly. But the connection interface should have been more friendly. If that white page said something like "Wait a minute, you should see something in your media player soon" it would have been more comforting. After it finally showed up in WMP, everything was peachy. Oh also they mentioned that people could submit questions and get them answered online, but when I looked for that on the web site, I couldn't find either a place to submit or a place to view the questions & answers. Overall I thought it was good though. SueAnonymous

Hi Mike, Nice job yesterday... although I was there live, I think the panel was well put together. kudos to you, Jane and team for a job well done. I like the web based digital pic frame idea (maybe someone will take the idea and make an affordable one :-) cya - JohnAnonymous

Mike, I saw, you had some trouble before the launch. I got error messages from your servers. Fortunately the vlaunch started a bit delayed... The technical webcasts are more value for me, since I need to migrate to CE6. But it was interesting to celebrate the official launch. /HelgeAnonymous

Hi Mike, Would you know of a more direct way to buy CE 6.0 in Europe? Tried to contact some embedded companies and they can be really nosy. They don't like single-man people who do designs for others. They only care about customers who will buy 1000000000 OEM stickers from them and so on... At $999US, PB is quite affordable for the one-man company as well to the hobbyist who likes to tinker with hardware. I would be interested to hear from anyone who could enlighten me into no-hassle purchase of CE6.0. I am aware of the 120/180 days Evaluation version, but I would like to get the full package. ThanksAnonymous

I had lot of trouble logging in. The feedback from the servers wasn't of much help, either: something about selecting a program I was supposed to be enrolled in (?). I first tried logging in 20 minutes before scheduled start time. I must have tried about 30 times. Then I created a new Windows Live ID just to see where the problem was. No success with the new one. Finally, several attempts later, at about 8:10 PST I managed to log in but I can't tell which ID worked. Then, I had to refresh the page to watch the stream as I got an error after selecting the rate. After that, all went well but I didn't know questions could be sent in. I missed an on-screen simple address to provide feedback. It all ended a bit abruptly, IMHO. Presentations were ok although I missed a roadmap into the future. Craig did a nice looking back summary. Demos were fine. Oh, and the vest... What can I say about it? You're a really brave man :-)Anonymous

I would watch the on demand sessions (technical sessions) again. Today I get the session agenda, but all links lead to empty pages. Can I view them from another place? /HelgeAnonymous

/Helge - if you go to https://mscorpevents.com/ce6launch/ and sign in using your Passport account you can watch the keynote or any of the on-demand technical sesssions.

Hello Mike, Great job on the Virtual Launch :) This is a great way to keep up to date without leaving the office. We watched what we wanted to see with the on demand and without alot of disruption. Bob HansonAnonymous

I've asked the events team whether they can make the videos downloadable - I will put a new blog post up if/when these become available. Thanks,
