Bruce Kyle put together a comprehensive look at how developers can get started using Windows Server 2008 R2 features, when to use them and where to go for next steps.  the release candidate for Windows Server 2008 has been made available publically, and the Windows SDK has been revised to take advantage of the new features in R2.  Bruce’s posting explains when applications should take advantage of Server Core, parallel processing using NUMA, PowerShell 2, Windows Web Services, and more. Links are also provided on getting Windows Server 2008 R2, getting the updated Windows SDK,  compatibility considerations, and application certification. There are lots of links to code samples, blog postings, and wherever a developer would want to check out to take next steps.
