Getting Started - Download the Excel Add-ins

Familiar tools such as Excel and SharePoint form the foundation of Power BI - this enables end users to build upon their existing knowledge with tools already at their fingertips. To get started you can download each of the Power Bi features (Power Query and Power Map) for Excel - these are Add-in's available to download from the following locations:

Power Map

From a licensing prospective you require Excel 2010 or 2013 Professional Plus or Office ProPlus (32-bit or 64-bit versions) - you can find the remaining pre-requisites listed here

Ensure that Excel is closed during the installation; upon completion open Excel and you will find that there will be a new tab for Power Query and "Map" will appear on the Insert tab:

Hi, Can you please clarify the requirements for PowerMAp. On your site, it mentions Excel 2010 but looking on the downlaod page, it is showing Excel 2013 as a minimum. Can you confirm.

I'm looking for the same information. Is it required to build in 2013 to publish to Power BI?
