TIME Magazine has selected one of Deanne's’ images for the title page of it’s 2008 collection of Pictures That Mattered from an essay she produced of Frank and Joe Capley-Alfano’s same-sex marriage in San Francisco, California.  The couples’ marriage was later annulled by the California Supreme Court, a decision it reversed in May. The couple, who wed again this year, is anxiously awaiting the outcome of challenges to Proposition 8, banning same-sex marriages, which was passed by voters in November.

Joe Alfano, left, and Frank Capley are on their way to be married at San Francisco's City Hall on June 17th after the California Supreme Court decides it is legal for same-sex couples to marry. Joe and Frank have been together for 8 years.

Deanne documented their entire wedding day and the photo above was selected as part of the 2008 TIME Magazine year-end collection of Pictures That Mattered.  In addition, the collection of wedding day images with Frank and Joe’s commentary can be seen on MSNBC.com
