Why take computer science? Save lives and the world

Alfred Thompson has written a series of good articles about programming, and why to take the classes, etc. But where is computer science being developed and refined to really save lives? Chapel Hill held a 2 day conference titled: Microsoft Biology Foundation Workshop 2011. This covered the open source tools for biological investigation and analysis. For the conference syllabus see: https://research.microsoft.com/en-us/events/mbf2011-chapelhill/

The basis for this conference is the Microsoft Biology Foundation at https://research.microsoft.com/en-us/projects/bio/mbf.aspx, here you will find a bunch of stuff that I definitely will be blogging about in the future.

What’s cool, is that it really should point out that if you are doing Computer Science a biology minor could lead to well paying jobs that can help save lives.

This new method is easily adapted for different calculations and can be automated, meaning it could be used to build much larger circuits. Article Submission directories
