UPDATE: Reminder!
Chat with members of the Team Foundation team of Visual Studio Team System. They'll be answering questions and discussing their suite of source control, work item tracking, Excel and Project integration, reporting, Windows SharePoint Services integration, and build automation tools.
Visual Studio Team System
- The particulars are not yet public, but Buck Hodges has a post (VSTS and MSDN Universal) about a newsgroup post from Ajay Sudan (a Product Manager on Team System) that briefly outlines the options available to MSDN Subscribers.
- Peter Jones blogs (Team System Progress) about his experience getting the December CTP of Team System up and running. He also includes a link to the slides we posted from VSConnections late last year.
Team Software Development
- Are you currently using IBM Rational® ClearCase®? Are you hoping to move to Team Foundation version control? If so, you’ll be interested in this post (Clearcase users interested in VSTS) from Akash Maheshwari, a Program Manager working on Team Foundation at the Microsoft India Development Center. Akash is interested in hearing from you to help understand how to make your migration easier.
- Buck Hodges has a couple of useful posts today. In this post (How to delete a team project in the Dec. CTP), he provides a quick overview of a utility in the December 2004 CTP for deleting team projects. It should be noted that the utility works best on team projects that were created successfully. He has another post (Branching and Merging in the Dec. CTP) that aggregates several posts he made last year that collectively describe how branching & merging work.
Development
- The Team System dynamic analysis (aka the profiler) team has a new Test Lead and blogger, Min Kwan Park.
DSL Tools & Software Factories
- We’re putting together a list of Known Issues for the December 2004 CTP release of the DSL Tools. Keep an eye on Jochen Seemann's Blog for further details.
- UPDATE: Known Issues and Work Arounds for the DSL Tools Dec04 CTP
Project Management
- Roy Osherove (an excellent source for links related to agile development) has a post (Content for the Winter 2004 issue of Methods & Tools) today to Methods & Tools (free membership), which includes an article on Adaptive Project Management Using Scrum by Craig Murphy. My team is adapting scrum to manage the Team Foundation documentation project. I’d be interested in hearing from anyone that’s using scrum for non-software development projects.
