AOL Mail RIA Beta gets an Upgrade!

Got a sweet surprise this morning!

AOL Mail just upgraded their RIA Beta with some cool features:

  • Signatures - add a signature to your outgoing emails
  • Printing - print an email you've received
  • Calendar and To Do's - Link to open your Calendar and To Do's in a new window
  • Message "View" - Filter emails in your Inbox based on Read/Unread messages, Flagged/Unflagged messages or Answered/Unanswered messages
  • Sounds - the classic AOL "You've Got Mail" sound and the new email sound
  • Sticky plugin state - the plugin you selected last is remembered (also if you closed the plugin area)
  • Full Screen view for WMVs - View a WMV-formatted video you've received in email in Full Screen
  • New message count in title bar

This is how my mailbox looks like (you can change color and layout themes on the fly)

and guess what? I can search and play videos without leaving my mailbox! Of course I can search for contacts, give feedback etc without leaving the page too…

I was already in love with this mail and it just got better!
