Global Bank Integration Baseline Architecture Coming Soon...

Microsoft's patterns and practices group created the Global Bank Integration (GBI) program to help customers understand how to migrate from building "silo" line-of-business applications to connected systems. The first project produced the PAG Integration Patterns book, containing 18 integration patterns and a description of how these patterns were used together to design and build out a baseline architecture. You should be familiar with these already<g>

The second release will come to fruition next week. It contains the Global Bank Integration scenario running on existing technology such as ASP.NET, BizTalk Server 2004, Host Integration Server 2004, SQL Server, MS CRM, and Visual Studio 2003. Included with this release is a very very cool Win Forms viewer application that visually explains the architecture through system, services, pattern, security and test views. The third release design to Indigo, Visual Studio 2005 using the service designer, logical datacenter designer and deployment designers and BizTalk Server 2004/6. This work is currently in progress and was announced at VS Live. Over the next few months you will see this baseline architecture evolve from .NET 1.1, to .NET 2.0 and leverage the power of our next generation web services platform “Indigo”.

All and all pretty exciting stuff.
