Extensions for Visual Studio Online

Last week at //build conference, we announced a new extensibility model for Visual Studio Online which is called extensions. Part of this new model includes integration to web UI. For now, you can only contribute to:

  • Add a hub group
  • Add a hub
  • Add an action to some popup menus and toolbars

Please note that extension are in private preview right now but you can get access by joining the Visual Studio Partners program.

It is not clear when extensions are going to be available for TFS and how it will work with work item custom controls together but we will share details soon.
