A new experience - TradeMe and Kayaking
I just did my first TradeMe purchase - TradeMe are NZ’s e-bay and they do a fine job…
Anyhow, I bought a Kayak – have a look… (my wife’s account is ‘soupylou’ before you ask)
To keep my blog a little work related I should mention that TradeMe host there site on Microsoft technology and are working towards moving to .NET (they were ASP 3.0) – in fact they have done this for 3 (1, 2, 3) out of their 4 sites to date – all with no major issues. The site (number 2 in NZ by traffic) is a great example of our platform scaling well and is a testimony to the TradeMe teams skills.
But this post is more about me, than technology…
So I bough a Kayak, the real test will be to see if I use it now (oh and I hope I don’t have to work as hard as Chris!).
I live in St Heliers in Auckland about 50 meters from the beach (we rent) so I’ve really got no excuse!
I used to do quite a bit of Kayaking when I was younger (on a K1 racing Kayak) and also a lot of Surf Ski paddling when I was a lifeguard (how life changes) – so wish me well, there is a chance I’ll get fit yet!

Sean, you're too kind.
I hope you get good use of the Kayak - if it doesn't work out there are always other options:
