DevDays 2010 Guest Blog Post: Ahmed Salijee

AhmedSalijeeAhmed is a stalwart at Microsoft South Africa and is pretty much a  part of the furniture. He’s a specialist in most things related to .NET and has a particular passion for mobile solutions.

Ahmed was under a little pressure for his DevDays session this year: Windows Phone 7 was announced at the MIX10 conference just days before DevDays kicked off in Johannesburg. True to form, and in just a few days (presenters often spend months preparing!), Ahmed quickly got hold of the developer bits and managed to put together a great session on phone development with Windows Phone 7.

Salijee, Ahmed - Developing Applications for Windows Phone 7In Developing Applications for Windows Phone 7 Ahmed covered how developers can use Visual Studio 2010, Expression Blend 4.0 and the Windows Phone 7 emulator to create applications for the new mobile device. Ahmed showed how to build both Silverlight and XNA based applications and utilise the phone’s built-in devices like the accelerometer.
