Analysis Services Report actions and SharePoint Integrated Mode Reports

This is one of those things that you can easily get wrong from time to time, (I have Smile), so thought I would share it on my blog and hopefully it will save some of you from facing the same issue.

When you have Reporting Services running in SharePoint integrated mode and you want to enable an action on a Analysis Services cube to a report on this reporting services server, you need to ensure you configure the Report Server properties correctly for it to work.

Essentially the format for this dialog box in BIDS for the Cube Action settings are:

Report Server

Server name: <name of reporting services server>/reportserver (default directory)

Report Path: <name of reporting services server>/reportserver?https://<sharepoint server name>/reports/<reportname>.rdl

Below is an example and screen shot:

Report Server :  https://mgsir37-02/ReportServer_WI

Report Path    :  https://mgsir37-02:2/Reports/Company Dashboard.rdl
