November 2008 Release of MFCMAPI

The November 2008 Release (build 6.0.0.1010) is live: https://www.codeplex.com/MFCMAPI

While we were working on the site for the Outlook MAPI Samples I mentioned that Codeplex allows projects to have a logo, and asked if anyone had any ideas. Next thing I knew, we had a designer lined up ready to draw a custom logo. Not to let an opportunity go to waste, I pointed out how awful the icon for MFCMAPI was. I didn’t really expect to get a new icon, but look what showed up in my mail last night:

 MFCMAPI256x256_Logo

The new icon alone is enough to warrant a new release, but I slipped in some other goodies as well. Here's a change list - see the Issue Tracker on Codeplex for more details, or look at the code:

  • New icon!
  • View Attachment and Recipient tables on embedded messages (Thanks to Darren for adding this feature. BTW – here’s a cool article here all about Darren!)
  • Add PST now works with Exchange’s MAPI
  • Bunch more PidLid and PidTag properties to sync up with the upcoming MAPI doc refresh

Enjoy.

Heavens no! Why would you want to go back to that old looking piece of garbage?

personal reasons - reminds me my first project in VS ;)  it's pretty much about MAPI - not pretty, but functional...

Ah, thank you Steve!  You are truly a gentleman and a scholar.  Took me a while to notice but you fixed the PST issue.  This will make life significantly easier for me and my team in the tricky troubleshooting cases.  What can I send you for Christmas?
