However, Web services can be difficult to secure because of the limitations of standards and the need to support a wide variety of client types. This webcast describes how to develop and apply authentication, authorization, and secure communication techniques to improve the security of Web services in Microsoft ASP.NET. We begin with an overview of three key Web service security models. We look at transport and platform model, the application model, and the message level model. We then examine the options available and walk through the process for implementing transport and platform level security for ASP.NET Web services.
